On July 28, 2023, the Saigon Training and Consulting Center for Import and Export (SIMEX), in collaboration with the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam (DBAV) and the organization ASSIST, conducted the first training course in a series of vocational training programs for businesses in Hanoi as part of the R2E - READY TO EXPORT project.
In July 2023, SIMEX played the role of a partner providing Senior Trainers in the field of International Trade and Post-Training Business Advisors (Business Mentors) to train and advise businesses within the framework of the R2E project. This project is a joint effort by the DBAV and ASSIST, aimed at providing practical vocational training for Vietnamese businesses throughout the third quarter of 2023.
The first topic in the series of five training topics was “INCOTERMS - INTERNATIONAL TRADE TERMS - THE NINE CHAPTERS OF EXPORT-IMPORT INDUSTRY”. The training took place in Hanoi and attracted hundreds of participants from various sectors such as agriculture, food and beverages, textiles, footwear, and electronics.
Participants highly praised the practical and useful nature of the training. They expressed that they gained valuable knowledge, enabling them to better understand international trade regulations and procedures, thus making informed business decisions.
Mr. Le Sai Gon, the Director of SIMEX, delivered engaging and practical modules to the participating businesses during the training session. Despite the long working day, the enthusiastic participation of the attendees made teaching a rewarding experience. Mr. Sai Gon shared his hope that the knowledge and experience imparted to the participants would help their businesses thrive on the international trade path.
The READY TO EXPORT program aims to boost the success of Vietnamese companies in the international market. The DBAV has established this three-year program to support small and medium-sized Vietnamese enterprises in accessing international markets. The program, sponsored by the Dutch government, focuses on three sectors: agriculture, horticulture, and manufacturing. Selected Vietnamese SMEs can participate in this in-depth program free of charge, which spans eight months for completion. Registration for this program will take place in March and April in the five largest cities in Vietnam.
The long-term goal of the R2E program is to enhance the capabilities of Vietnamese SMEs, transforming them into long-term partners within the value chain. These partnerships will involve foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, Dutch businesses, and multinational corporations (MNEs), fostering reliable and competitive SME trade partners in Vietnam.
In the short term, the R2E program aims to help Vietnamese SMEs succeed in expanding their operations both internationally and as high-value partners for FDI companies and MNEs.
